Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Bath County Criminal History. Continued use means that you accept all terms below. If you disagree with them, do not continue using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected with a local, Kentucky, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act use. Bath County record-source guidance is provided for reference. We are neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently from all government offices. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve files, perform official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Bath County and Kentucky sources that maintain records, including the sheriff, court clerk, Kentucky State Police, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, while also providing access to optional outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use site information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Run a scraper, bot, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Use content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Interfere with performance or prevent access by other visitors
  • Violate any federal, Kentucky, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No site or linked-tool information may be used to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Kentucky registry law is especially clear: misuse of Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry data against an identified person can carry criminal penalties under KRS 525.070 and 525.080. Registry access supports lawful public awareness, not vigilante conduct.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Site and linked-tool data cannot be used to:

  • Determine creditworthiness or an insurance rate
  • Evaluate a rental or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful FCRA-regulated check must come through a properly authorized, FCRA-compliant provider rather than this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Bath County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or Kentucky expungement law applies to a specific matter. Consult a licensed Kentucky attorney for that guidance.

6. No Warranties

All content is supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dismissals, restrictions, and expungement orders can change a criminal record. Updates may lag, so site content is never an official statement by a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to law-enforcement sites, court portals, agencies, legal resources, or outside search providers. We do not control those destinations or accept responsibility for their content, availability, privacy practices, or prices. Their terms govern use of their services.

8. Intellectual Property

Bath County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information from a page or linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or actions caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms, including applicable Kentucky Open Records Act and KRS 17.151 distinctions where official public records are discussed. A dispute related to site use must be brought in a Kentucky court.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be adjusted only as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
