Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the purposes for which it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Bath County Criminal History, you accept these privacy practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; we do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email sent to us as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a binding legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive certain technical details when a visitor loads a page:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when one is available
  • Your browser name and version
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Approximate time spent on pages

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, such as popular pages and exit points. Analytics services combine that traffic data. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search request to the selected partner service
  • Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
  • Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
  • Operating the site and maintaining reasonable performance
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Bath County guidance identifies official record sources, including the sheriff, the courts, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices, all of which are outside our control. Review those terms before entering a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement agencies, Kentucky government sites, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a query submitted to their tool
  • Advertising networks serving ads on the pages
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard safeguards for collected data, but no internet system can guarantee perfect security. Reasonable protective steps reduce risk without eliminating the possibility of a breach.

Users Under 18

This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Kentucky law, including the Kentucky Open Records Act at KRS 61.870 through 61.884 when government records are involved, may provide rights beyond this private-site policy. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask for a copy of data we hold about you
  • Opt out of certain processing where the law permits
  • Request deletion of your data where applicable

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.
